The College of Maasin Nisi Dominus Frustra

General admission

Admission is open to all qualified applicants of good moral character, regardless of civil status, sex, age, religious affiliation, ethnic group or nationality.

Who may apply

New students enter college for the first time after graduating from senior high school. A graduate who defers enrollment for a time is still considered a new student.

Transferees have enrolled in another higher education institution, including TESDA-regulated technical and vocational schools, and are moving to The College of Maasin.

Requirements for new students

  1. Original Form 138 (Report Card) with final grades, signed by the principal or registrar, and marked “Eligible for Admission to College”.
  2. Certificate of Good Moral Character from the principal, or a recommendation letter from the guidance counselor.
  3. Duly accomplished application form.
  4. Original or certified true copy of the PSA birth certificate.
  5. Medical certificate from the school physician.
  6. Two 2×2 ID pictures.

Requirements for transferees

  1. Certificate of Eligibility for Transfer (Honorable Dismissal or Transfer Credentials), certifying that the student has no financial or other accountabilities at the previous school. Its return slip is sent back to the previous school, which then forwards the Official Transcript of Records.
  2. True copy of grades, accepted for evaluation only and not for formal transfer.
  3. Certificate of Good Moral Character signed by the previous Dean or Registrar.
  4. Duly accomplished application form.
  5. Original or certified true copy of the PSA birth certificate.
  6. Medical certificate from the school physician.
  7. Two 2×2 ID pictures.

Applicants with PEPT or ALS certificates

Applicants who did not graduate from high school may qualify through the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) or the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation and Equivalency test. Submit the Certificate of Rating authenticated by the Department of Education, together with Form 137 from the last school attended.

Second-degree applicants

Graduates of another institution follow the same requirements as transferees. General education subjects are generally credited, but each department decides which subjects to credit. Applicants take the major subjects and institutional subjects such as Religion.

Juris Doctor and Master in Public Administration

  • Juris Doctor: a bachelor’s degree with at least 18 units of English, 6 units of Mathematics and 18 units of Social Science.
  • MPA: a bachelor’s degree with at least 18 units of English and 6 units of Mathematics.

Continuing students and retention

Continuing students are those enrolled in previous semesters, or who stopped without enrolling elsewhere. A student who fails 60% of enrolled units in a semester or summer may re-enroll in the same program only with the Dean’s approval. After a second failure the student may transfer to another program if accepted by its Dean; after a third, the student is disqualified from enrolling. Departments may set their own retention policies.
