The Honor Code
Each student pledges to:
Behave with decorum in and out of the campus
- Be neat, clean and decent in attire.
- Abide by all laws and regulations of the College.
- Refrain from smoking on campus and in its immediate vicinity.
Do academic work with integrity
- Refrain from copying another person’s work.
Respect the rights of others
- Treat administrators, faculty, staff, fellow students and guests with the utmost respect.
Protect the name and property of the College
- Refrain from acts that may embarrass the school or bring dishonor to its name.
The honor system rests on the belief that honor and self-discipline are marks of an educated person.
General directives
- Enrollment at The College of Maasin expresses one’s willingness to abide by the rules and regulations of the College. Students and their parents or guardians commit to observe them.
- Parents, guardians and visitors may not enter classrooms during class hours. Messages and materials for students are coursed through the Security Desk.
- In compliance with CHED Memorandum Order No. 25, series of 2009, drug testing is conducted among students. Refusal to comply is dealt with accordingly.
- Students are expected to behave properly in classrooms and corridors, and in and out of campus. Sitting on stairways, corridors and hallways is not allowed.
- School uniform and attire:
- Students come to the College in appropriate, decent and clean attire. During regular class hours the following are not permitted: for female students, bareback or midriff tops, low necklines, spaghetti straps, miniskirts, sleeveless or tube tops, tattered pants, long slits and shorts; for male students, shorts of any style, tight leggings, sando, slippers or sandals, and sleeveless shirts.
- Physical Education uniforms are worn only during PE classes or campus games.
- Attire offensive to the sensibilities of other members of the College is not allowed.
- Earrings and long hair for male students, and tattoos and dyed hair for all students, are not allowed.
- On uniform days, only students in complete uniform may enter the premises and attend classes.
- Students wear their validated ID and nameplate at all times on campus. IDs are secured from the Registrar during enrollment. A college ID is valid for four years if validated every semester or summer; Basic Education IDs are valid for one school year.
- Smoking, possessing, giving or selling cigarettes, and drinking alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited on campus.
- Students attend classes regularly and on time. If an instructor has not arrived after fifteen minutes, the class president or secretary reports the matter to the Dean.
